Survivor - Renata

Four years before I left my home to a hope for a better life and I decided to move in England. I had faced with many difficulties, as after a couple of weeks when I started work my body gave up and I ended up in the hospital. The doctor told me I have 99% possible Multiple Sclerosis… which was really hard to face with and also accept it, because before I was a sport person. Ohh.. when I was in the hospital I haven't got much English knowledge so it was all very scary for me because I didn’t understand whats going on really, but I did understand the meaning of MS when the doctor told me. On my workplace (what I decided to leave, because of my health condition) I met with my boyfriend, I didn't know what he was telling me that time because the lack of English knowledge, but I stay focused, listened and tried my best to understand him. Because of the lack of English knowledge, and being happy for his help as he is a local person, I ended up next to him as I was related on him, but with time he started abusing me badly, I haven't got any support that time because I cant work and also we moved into a Town where I don't even had any friends so I was most of the time alone without heating, electic, and him (company) because of the neglecting. When I find out he became a serious drug addict, first I wanted help on him but I quickly realised unfortunately I cant, so one day I sneaked out from the flat and asked for help in secretly and moved out from the house straight. Than specialist told me what happened with me, I don't even knew about this, because where I coming from there are no rules for abusing someone mentally, emotionally, financially etc… only for physical abuse.

That was the time when I realised that how many hard times I had in my life and also that I went through a lot in my whole life, but somehow I always found the way to the exit. Thats why I choosed the Survivor band, which is one of my favourite.

Since than, I have my own home, I never heard about my abuser, and as I wanted say thank you for the Lord for keeping me in safe and gave me a home what I never thought I will have, only in my dreams, thats why I searched up the local church. Thought I will say thank you and after thats it, but I stayed there and now I have a lot of friends, they helped me a lot and I am very grateful and lucky. I was also baptised in 2023. I am an active member of the Church and I do volunteering in their shop. When I saw the Love Like Jesus band that was a must need for me.
