My kids absolutely love watching nature documentaries, with one of their favorite animals to learn about being penguins. What I thought was so funny as I watched was how penguins walk - slow, tiny steps that resemble more of a waddle than a stride.
But when they get into water, they are flying all around like little acrobats in the sea. This was such a good metaphor for us - there are things that we may not be the best at that, if we get overly self conscious, hold us back from ever experiencing the things we are really good at.
That was my hope for this beautiful bracelet filled with penguins in different phases of their waddle - that you take it step by step. In fact, the card I wrote for this one shares the sentiment I had in mind for this perfectly:
Just because your steps are small doesn't mean you're doing it wrong. Everything worth doing takes practice, and every place worth going takes perseverance.
