Story: Dispatchers. They’re always there, at our fingertips, waiting on the other end of our 9-1-1 call. They’re the first ones to hear our voices, but we never see their face and they often serve us without thanks. They’re the voice of clarity, comfort, and calm amidst the chaos. These are the men and women who save lives everyday but are often forgotten. These are the men and women who coach you through CPR on your baby sister, who tell you what to do when an intruder breaks in, and who talk you through your car crash. When we are at our weakest, they provide strength, time after time. Each day, dispatchers take on so much stress and trauma in order to help others, and when the day is over, they choose to do it all over again the next day. We thank you dispatchers for everything you do, for going above and beyond to be there for others, and your work does not go unnoticed or unappreciated.
