For our inaugural "Ghosts" week, I felt like it'd be interesting to reflect on our fears and, more importantly, how often they are misplaced.
There's a lot of studies out there that talk about how and why we worry. In fact, one of the most popular ones comes from Penn State University: Participants were asked to record their daily worries in a WOJ, or Worry Outcome Journal.
After 30 days, the results were calculated and found that 91.4% of the things they worried about did not come true.
91.4%.
That's a crazy high number, yet most of us will continue to worry about (mostly) the same things, every single day. We can't help it.
But in this spooky season, I felt like a reminder such as this would work so perfectly in gently getting your mind back on track. After all, it's not really that scary.
Big Hugs!
