Nobody's first attempt at anything comes out right. The first loaf comes out dense, and the first time you try the thing you have been putting off since spring it comes out wobbly. Then you do it again and it comes out a little better, and again after that, and somewhere in there it quietly turns into a thing you can do.
What I love about this design is how unbothered everyone in it looks about that process. A crowd of small witches around a cauldron, and not one of them appears remotely worried about whether the potion is going to work. They are just getting on with it.
That is the useful part, because the thing standing between most of us and the thing we want is not talent, it is the willingness to keep going while it is still coming together. Nobody is born knowing. Everyone you admire has a pile of early attempts they do not show you, and the only real difference between them and the rest of us is that they kept stirring.
So whatever you are working on, it is allowed to be a mess for now. The mess is the method. You are supposed to be adding things and tasting and adjusting and occasionally setting something slightly on fire, because that is what making anything actually looks like from the inside.
