You're The Best - String

When Anna, our amazing au-pair from China moved in with us about a year and a half ago, she definitely became an integral part of Sven and Mars' lives. One of the things she taught Sven to say when he was almost 3 is 'You're the best'.

One day, as I was getting ready to leave, he followed me to the stairs and stopped me before I headed down. "Dad, you're the best."

Now that... that's the kind of moment that sticks with you for the rest of your life.

Every day, as I get ready to leave, it's become part of my departure ritual: He tells me I'm the best, I tell him he is. He takes it personally as yells back: 'no, YOU'RE the best!'

And I always end up leaving with a smile on my face. Kind words go a long ways, don't they?

I always say that ZOX are little hugs that remind you of things you need to hear the most. These words are some that I know each and every one of us would like to hear more. So here it is, Sven's gift to you: You're the best. ♥️
