There have been countless times in my life that I've found myself consumed with my own struggle. I think it's human nature to worry about ourselves first - it's our survival instincts kicking in. What I took from this quote is the idea that sometimes, it might not be convenient for us to light a lamp for someone else. We're too busy, we have too much going on and too many things to do. But if you take a moment to reflect back on what's brought you the most unexpected joy, it'll always come back to helping others. 

Why is that? 

I think it's because when we see the joy we can bring to someone else, it fills us up with joy as well. We find happiness in making others happy. To be honest, that's what ZOX has been for me - years of working to make others happy has made me the happiest I've ever been.
