Overview
This is the backpack made for people who are tired of having to replace backpacks every year. It's incredibly durable, travel-tested, and easily expandable thanks to our proprietary 'Capsules' system.
The Imperial is the largest volume bag we make at nearly 25L, but it never feels too big. Thats because you can roll it down to shrink it to the size you need, then expand it when you've got more to carry. It's patented roll top / dual zipper clamshell design means it can handle a wide array of items while also keeping them all easy to find.
Outside
The Imperial is made using an incredibly durable and waterproof 900d Cordura, a material more abrasion resistant than ballistic nylon. Zippers are all YKK - you'll find two on the front to open the entire bag, and two on the back to keep your valuables like wallets, phones and passports. Speaking of the back, it's got a unique air mesh to give you cushion, with a hidden channel that allows it to easily fit over your carry-on roller bag's handle.
But it doesn't end there. The Imperial allows for incredible customization in two ways.
First, you can change out both the larger Closure Strap on the front of the bag and the tension Straps (on the shoulder straps) for any of our ZOX designs, making it incredibly easy to customize.
Secondly - the 3 expansion bracket mounts on the Imperial allow you to easily rotate the items you're carrying. With one on each side, and another on the bottom, you can almost double the carrying capacity of the Imperial using Capsules.
Capsules are a big part of what makes the entire ZOX bag ecosystem so incredible, so let's dive into those a bit more. Each Capsule we make allows for incredible flexibility, able to be added on to other larger bags in a matter of seconds or carried on their own. Add the Daily to give yourself an additional compartment to store your goodies - you can remove it and carry it cross body when you're trying to travel light. Add the Water to carry bottles you want to keep cool with its insulated interior. Or, you can use my favorite - the incredibly versatile Roll. This simple add on carries everything from a yoga mat to a tool set, a blanket to a tripod. On my backpacks, I typically use this Capsule on the bottom for maximum space.
Inside
Inside the Imperial, you'll find a stunning cut of our black and white trademark Imperial Print linking the entire inside. A generous padded laptop sleeve fits laptops up to 17", as well as an extra zip pocket for more compartmentalized folks.
