When Lumi first sent me this art, he mentioned this idea of wanting to create pieces that symbolized a brighter future.
I loved that! So as I went to work naming these beautiful pieces, and writing out the cards for them, I thought through all the reminders I could use. It's Just A Season is the perfect example of that.
I still remember when I was I around 22, I had gone on a youth group camping trip with a mentor of mine to help him manage it all. One day, we got talking about these periods in our lives that feel as though nothing is going right. He referred to what I was trying to describe as a season of silence - a period of time where it feels as though we're all alone.
The important thing to remember is that all of us go through these seasons - and yet we're still here.
Why?
Because seasons come and go - times change, and we discover that the moments we felt were so painful were actually times when we grew the most. In fact, on the card for this design, I wrote something to expand on this idea:
I know it's hard, and sometimes it feels like it's never going to get any easier. But remember, this is just a season, and things will change. They always do.
Many times, when I write something on a card, I like to think about who it's for so that I can provide the sort of words that may be hard to find when looking for a gift to give someone you care about. In this case, I feel like this message is one all of us could use, and I'm hopeful that wherever it ends up - it helps the wearer remember one thing: You are strong.
