Life rarely follows a straightforward path. We often find ourselves facing moments of uncertainty, where the road ahead isn’t clear and the future feels unpredictable. In these moments, we’re naturally inclined to rely on what we can see - our immediate circumstances, our plans, or our understanding. But 2 Corinthians 5:7 challenges us: “For we live by faith, not by sight.”

Faith is a choice, a posture we adopt that says, “Even when I can’t see how things will unfold, I will trust that God is in control.” It’s not a passive trust, but an active decision to rely on what we know about God’s character rather than on what we can physically observe. And this isn’t just about trusting God when things are easy or clear - it’s about trusting Him when everything around us feels uncertain or even chaotic.

When Paul says, “we live by faith, not by sight,” he’s inviting us into a deeper way of living. It’s not about seeing every step clearly before we move; it’s about taking steps in the dark, holding on to the certainty that God is with us even when we can’t see the way. Living by faith doesn’t mean we won’t experience fear or doubt, but it means that in those moments, we choose to believe that God’s promises hold true even when our circumstances don’t make sense.

It’s easy to live by sight - to trust in what we can touch and feel. But living by faith requires us to step into the unknown, to let go of our need for control and embrace the uncertainty, trusting that God is in the unseen. This kind of faith doesn’t eliminate challenges - it gives us the courage to face them, knowing that God is working in ways we cannot always see.

So how do we live by faith in the everyday? It starts with trusting God with the small, daily steps - the decisions we make, the people we interact with, and the challenges that arise. It’s in these moments that our faith grows. When we choose faith over fear, when we rely on God’s provision even when the outcome is unclear, we begin to experience a deeper trust in Him.

Big Hugs!
