When I first saw the art for this design, I knew the details were the whole story. Cupid isn’t just holding a heart, he’s holding one that’s covered in cracks, and somehow it’s still whole, while he looks at it through rose colored glasses like he’s choosing hope on purpose.
That’s what “Love Hurts” is really about.
Love is vulnerable by design. It asks you to hand someone a piece of yourself without knowing exactly how it will be handled, and even when it’s good, even when it’s safe, it still comes with risk because it matters. The more you care, the more you feel, and that can be terrifying if you’ve ever been disappointed, let down, or left with a heart you had to put back together.
That cracked heart is such a perfect reminder that being hurt doesn’t mean you’re broken beyond repair. It means you’ve lived. It means you’ve tried. It means you’ve been brave enough to love in a world where nothing is guaranteed, and you’re still here with a heart that keeps beating, even if it carries a few lines from what it’s been through.
And those rose colored glasses matter too, because they’re not pretending the cracks aren’t there. They’re a choice to see the beauty anyway. They’re a choice to believe that love is still worth it, that tenderness is still powerful, and that your heart doesn’t have to be flawless to be worthy of something real.
Wear “Love Hurts” as a reminder that your softness is not a weakness, and your past doesn’t disqualify you from future joy. A cracked heart can still be whole, and the bravest thing you can do is keep loving, not blindly, but hopefully, with your eyes open and your heart still in your hands.
