Love You To The Moon Bracelet

I've been trying to wrap my head around the size of space lately, and I don't recommend it.

Not because it's not worth thinking about - but because your brain just kind of gives up after a while. The moon is 239,000 miles away. The nearest star beyond our sun is 25 trillion miles away. The observable universe stretches 93 billion light years across. At some point the numbers stop meaning anything and you're just sitting there, a little dizzy, feeling very small.

But here's the thing. There's only one thing in my life that gives me that same feeling - that same sense of something so big I can't get my arms around it.

My family.

That's why we called this design Love You To The Moon. Because when I try to put into words what I feel for the people I love most, I run into the same problem I run into with space. The words just aren't big enough. "I love you" is true, but it's not enough. It doesn't come close to capturing what I mean when I look at my kids, or my wife, or the people who have shown up for me again and again over the years.

It's not a feeling you can measure. It's not a feeling you can explain. It's just - enormous. And quiet. And always there, like the moon outside your window whether you're looking at it or not.

If you're anything like me, you know exactly what I'm talking about. There's someone in your life - maybe a few someones - where love isn't really the right word because it's too small for what you actually feel. You'd cross any distance for them. You'd burn yourself down to keep them warm. You'd do it without thinking, without hesitating, without asking for anything back.

That's not something language was built to hold.

So we borrowed from the universe instead.

When you wear Love You To The Moon, I hope it makes you think of them. I hope it sits on your wrist and quietly points at the person - or people - who make you feel that special kind of good.

Tell them. Even if the words fall short. Even if "I love you to the moon" is the closest you can get.

It's close enough.
