Most of us measure our progress against the finish line rather than the starting line, and by that math it can look like we have barely moved at all. But the ground you have covered is still covered, even on the days it does not feel like much, and the version of you from a year ago would be genuinely impressed by where you are standing right now.
That is the whole idea behind On My Way. Bigfoot makes a pretty good patron saint for it, because nobody has ever caught him arriving anywhere. Every blurry photo, every plaster cast, every roadside story is of someone mid-stride, out past the tree line, headed somewhere the rest of us do not get to see. He is not finished. He is just going, and he has never once seemed embarrassed about it.
Neither should you be. Maybe you are in year three of something that was supposed to take two, or still translating in your head months into a new language, or rebuilding a relationship one honest conversation at a time. Maybe the degree, the business, the recovery, the savings account or the stronger body is taking far longer than the timeline you drew for it in your head. That timeline was always a guess. The walking is the real part.
Not there yet and not moving are two completely different things.
Being in the middle of something is not a failure to finish it. It is what finishing actually looks like from the inside, one unglamorous mile at a time, and every one of those miles counts toward the total whether anybody claps for it or not.
The trail signs on this design all point the same way, which is onward. This one is for everybody in the long middle of something good, still closing the distance, still moving even when the progress is too slow to photograph.
