The armor passage is one of the better known in the whole letter, and the part people usually skip is what it is actually for. Put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
Not to advance. Not to conquer. To stand, and then having done everything, to still be standing. It is a remarkably modest ambition for a passage about armor, and anyone who has been through a genuinely hard year will recognize why that is the right one.
The camo here goes softer than the usual dark tones, which is fitting for equipment that is entirely defensive. Some seasons ask you to build, and some ask you only to hold the line until the weather changes. The second kind is not a lesser season. It is often where the actual work happens, and nobody gives out medals for it.
Look at the pattern again. Every piece of that is protection, and none of it is a weapon.
