Wild + Free Bracelet

When we started thinking about all the things that make foxes special, I kept going back to this encounter I had with one in Iceland nearly 8 years ago. We had taken this path called and F-Road (basically Iceland's unpaved roads that, many times, end up having you literally drive through rivers) and ended up at this wonderful little bed and breakfast in the fjords. 

As the sun was starting to set, I found this beautiful little fox running around behind the house. I tried my best to convince him I was okay,  but he kept his distance, curiously approaching without getting too close. Then, out of nowhere, he took off. I watched him run with incredible grace up the hill behind the house, and that was it.

That evening, I couldn't help but think about the fact that most of us here in the US have dogs where, if they didn't come home at night, we'd be worried sick. But foxes - they have the idea of wild and free down perfectly - they're exploring, living with curiosity and finding true freedom in the wilderness. 

I love that. 

My hope for this beautiful reminder is that it encourages you to live a little more like a fox - to embrace the wild within, where true freedom begins.
